1. What is the S.M.F.F Method™?
The S.M.F.F Method™ (Say It, Move It, Feel It, Find It) is our proprietary multisensory reading intervention approach. It uses spoken sound, movement, hands on sensory activities, and guided discovery to help children build literacy foundations in the way their brain learns best , not just through repetition and worksheets.
2. What age group is Renewed Minds for?
Our multisensory literacy programmes and phonics kits are designed for children aged 5 to 14, whether they’re just starting to learn letter sounds or working on reading comprehension and sentence level fluency.
3. How do I know if my child needs a reading intervention?
Common signs include difficulty recognising letters or sounds, avoiding reading time, struggling to blend sounds into words, reading well below grade level or losing confidence around school work. If your child is falling behind in Grade 1–3 reading milestones, an early reading intervention can make a significant difference.

We’re based in Durban, South Africa, offering after school reading programmes, one-on-one literacy intervention and school partnership programmes, alongside take home multisensory phonics kits for families anywhere in South Africa.
5. Do you offer one-on-one reading intervention or only group sessions?
Both. We offer one-on-one intervention with an individualised learning plan and continuous progress monitoring, as well as structured after-school group sessions using the S.M.F.F Method™.
6. What's included in the Full S.M.F.F™ Kit?
The Full S.M.F.F™ Kit includes CVC flash cards, a mini pop-it fidget, playdough, Velcro matching pictures, and an erasable marker everything needed to practice phonics, blending, and spelling through hands-on multisensory play at home.
7. Can I use the workbooks and kits at home without enrolling in a programme?
Yes. Our phonics workbooks and multisensory kits are designed for home use, therapy sessions or classroom support you don’t need to be enrolled in an after-school programme to use them.
8. How is Renewed Minds different from regular tutoring?
Traditional tutoring often repeats the same teaching method that didn’t work the first time. Renewed Minds uses a multisensory, neuroscience-based approach engaging sight, sound, movement and touch together so children who struggle with conventional teaching finally have a method that fits how they actually learn.
